A Woman's Business
To love a man can give you a lifelong of heartbreak. However, if you follow the principles of A Woman’s Business, you can control the relationship . . . and the man.
A Woman’s Business is a story about the elegantly beautiful, and wittingly sharp, May Rose Jones, a first-generation African American woman born during the end of slavery in Bedford, Virginia. She struggles to convince the women in her family that she is using the principles taught by her elders with her husband, Willie Jones, which is no easy feat considering, in their opinion, Willie is not worthy of holding May Rose’s hand while walking down the street, let alone take her hand in marriage.
In spite of Willie’s disrespect and addiction to Moonshine, May Rose displays her love for him as her American culture has shown her to do. This is where she clashes with the African teachings from past generations. Her mother, aunts, and even her teenaged daughter don’t bite their tongues when it comes to expressing their disappointment in May Rose’s inability to handle her business, even accusing her of shaming the work of her elders. Will May Rose fall back in line with the blueprint her ancestors have put in place, or will those who think they know best for her have to take matters into their own hands? Either way, May Rose hits the roof when the shenanigans hit the fan, and readers get hit with a slew of unsuspecting occurrences that they’ll never see coming.

"A Woman’s Business is a tantalizing literary experience. Readers are in store for an emotional rollercoaster as they hunker down with their favorite drink in their favorite reading nook. The lead character, May Rose Jones, pulls at our heartstrings as she takes us on a journey with a storyline full of sorrow, laughter, and plenty of family drama. Kudos to Author Tracy Mungo. She hit this one out of the ballpark.”
